By now you know how discover if you are in resistance. You also understand why resistance shows up and how it stops you from creating the career of your dreams. Today, we’ll help you learn how to get past resistance.

First, understand that resistance is normal. Everyone experiences it. Steven Pressfield says, “Resistance is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, harder to kick than crack cocaine. We’re not alone if we’ve been mowed down by Resistance; millions of good men and women have bitten the dust before us.”

Resistance comes from fear. If you are paralyzed with fear, and therefore resistance, it is actually a good sign. In The War of Art, Steven Pressfield says, “Fear is good. Fear is an indicator. Fear tells us what we have to do.”

Once it has served its purpose as a guidepost, telling you which move you should make next, fear can be defeated. All fear comes from a belief. Your beliefs come from a decision you made at some point, often unconsciously and often having little to do with reality. So to beat resistance, choose a different decision. A different decision will give you a different belief which should eliminate the fear and allow you to continue on past resistance.

What fears do you have? What are they telling you about what is most important to you? How are these fears contributing to your resistance?
